Dr. Robinson earned her PhD in Cereal Science, and her BS and MS degrees in Food and Nutrition from North Dakota State University. She is a Registered Dietitian and has a diploma in Practical/Vocational Nursing. Dr. Robinson received advanced training related to child obesity; she has a Certificate of Training in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration. She maintains membership in several professional organizations (American Society for Nutrition Sciences and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics).
Dr. Robinson provides leadership in the areas of dietary guidance and life-cycle or family nutrition for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Robinson is a co-principle investigator for a state-wide professional child and adult care training program conducted by county Extension agents. In addition, she is a co-principal investigator for Balancing Food & Play, a third grade school enrichment project with four key messages: snack on fruits & vegetables, drink milk with meals and water with snacks, enjoy 60 minutes of physical activity and limit screen time to two hours or less.
Robinson’s research interest includes the identification of nutrition education needs among professionals and the public and the effectiveness of education interventions to increase knowledge and improve behavior.
